Professor Susan Brian, Kings College London: "Utilising integrative models to tease our mechanisms involving sensory nerves"
Professor Philip Winn, University of Strathclyde: "Putting the brain into brainstem - how lower systems are critical for the operations of higher processes"

Congratulations to Dr Lorraine Work for the recent New Investigator research award from the Medical Research Council for 3 years to investigate microRNA modulation as a novel therapeutic for stroke, £398,737. Collaborators: Profs AH Baker & IM Macrae and Drs JD McClure & EJ Kremer (Montpellier).
Congratulation to Dr Leanne McKay for obtaining a 3 year Medical Research Scotland award to investigate the development and maturation of the neural control of breathing (£149,789).
